40: Howard Levy, Harmonica Player | Rhythm, Melody & Light are all the same thing
Howard Levy has one of the most inquisitive musical minds of anyone I’ve ever met, and the thing that he’s most known for is his astounding harmonica playing and innovative technique.
I have always found Howard to be a very sensitive thinker – someone who looks for patterns in life and who is often searching for (and discovering) a deeper meaning in the things that most people take for granted.

On this week's podcast, he talks about his journey out of New York, to the city of wide shoulders and open spaces, and how living in Chicago influenced his development, gave him room to think and create, and eventually come to some very special conclusions about the nature of sound, light, rhythm, melody, and maybe even life itself.
We also get a primer in how the harmonica works, and how Levy forces notes out of the instrument that don't actually exist so he can play incredible blues licks.
